The Mighty Holy Spirit

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:26,27

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit

by Philip C Jones

Why do you need the baptism of the Holy Spirit? If you want to
please and obey God, then you are to be filled with the Holy Spirit
with the evidence of speaking in tongues according to the Word
of God:

"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon
you" (Acts 1:8a KJV).

"And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with
other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance" (Acts 2:4).

"For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that
are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call" (Acts 2:39 KJV).

"And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the
Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18 KJV).

Let us continue now in our understanding of why you need the
baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Who is the Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit is God:

"But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie
to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold,
was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing
in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God"
(Acts 5:3,4 KJV).

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity:

"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:
and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl
of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over
every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth" (Genesis 1:26 KJV).

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name
of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost"
(Matthew 28:19 KJV).

The Holy Spirit has feelings:

"And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto
the day of redemption" (Ephesians 4:30 KJV).

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth:

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you
into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever
he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things
to come.

The Holy Spirit is the Comforter:

"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will
send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things
to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you" (John 14:26 KJV).

The Holy Spirit is our Intercessor:

The reason it so beneficial to pray in tongues at least
an hour a day is because this is what happens: the Holy Spirit
prays to your Heavenly Father the perfect prayer to eliminate any
hindrances and weaknesses in your life that would frustrate God's
perfect plan for your life:

"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities (feebleness
(of body or mind), malady, frailty, disease, infirmity, sickness
or weakness): for we know not what we should pray for as we ought:
but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings
which cannot be uttered.

And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the
Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to
the will of God" (Romans 8:26,27 KJV).
